Job Description

Description and Main Purpose of Role

  • The intern will report to the Western Hemisphere Commercial Team as the main users of the database.
  • The placement student will liaise with all applicable parts of the Sulmara corporate structure to compile a project database to expand on the high-level information held in the Sulmara track record spreadsheet. The placement student will utilize the Sulmara track record spreadsheet to prioritize and track the completion of the project database.
  • The placement student is expected to learn about the business to ensure that the information transcribed to the project database is correct, legible and can be used by all parts of the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Work towards the following learning outcomes:

  • Subsea services for offshore energy development, survey, equipment, people and site characterisation for energy development.
  • Data theory, structuring, input and cleaning.
  • Communicating with members of the Commercial, Operations and Reporting teams about the data contained in the database.
  • Agree and finalise the structure of the data to be captured with the Commercial Director-Western Hemisphere.
  • Agree a priority list of projects to investigate and capture, which will be collated from Sulmara exemplar projects.
  • Communicate with colleagues within the business and research the work storage drive to collate the priority project information.
  • Adhere to the Company’s procedures and policies.
  • Perform any other delegated duties or tasks as instructed by your Line Manager.

 

Skills Requirements

  • Interest in learning about the subsea services business.
  • Interest in learning about data management and analysis, and how this is used in business.
  • Organised and methodical approach to work.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Good knowledge of computer skills.

Experience, Competency and Qualifications

  • Working towards academic studies in an appropriate business / engineering / Marine related subject.
  • Good standard of IT literacy.
