Crewing Manager (Glasgow)


Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Line Management Duties for the offshore pool within the Region.
  • Develop and improve administrative systems, procedures and methods for general use; to improve efficiency of crewing.
  • Establish, Develop and Maintain project personnel plans / crew change rotas for all projects within the Region.
  • Accountability for offshore certification and vaccination requirements for all projects within the Region ensuring that all personnel have valid documents with assistance from the Crewing Coordinator.
  • With support from the Crewing Coordinator and external agents, establish visa requirements prior to project commencement and ensure this process is managed so that all project personnel have the right to enter the required country of operation.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with personnel agencies.
  • Obtain contract personnel from agencies when required, review CVs and discuss proposed personnel with Sulmara Project Team.
  • In conjunction with Training and Competency, ensure that the trip appraisals are completed for all offshore project personnel.
  • Assist Global Resources Manager in the movement of Interco personnel between regions, when required.
  • Ensure that the designated Sulmara resource planning tool is maintained and updated on a regular basis.
  • Manage and report on Offshore pool utilisation on a monthly basis against contracted days for region.
  • Promote the use of the company’s IMS in all aspects of the business.

Skills Requirements

  • Must be a driven individual, possess a positive attitude, and promote the business positively in the community.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to work well independently and within teams.
  • Must have a good technical understanding of offshore survey.

Experience, Competency and Qualifications

  • University degree in Survey / Geomatics or Hydrography or equivalent, or relevant industry experience.
  • Relevant field survey experience related to offshore survey.
  • Experience within a resourcing / operations role would be preferred but not essential.
