Development Project Manager


Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of assigned Sulmara development (DEV) projects from a technical competence, cost management and safety standpoint and in accordance with Sulmara’s Business and Safety management systems.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Become an internal and external advocate for assigned DEV project(s). 
  • Management of the assigned project(s) through its entire lifecycle; from concept, planning, execution, completion and closeout. 
  • Manage work scopes, milestones, and outputs for DEV project work packs (based on relevant technical inputs) and ensure progress is made in line with requirements. 
  • Identify and mitigate potential QHSE, technical and commercial risks for assigned projects. 
  • Liaise with funding bodies to manage grant claims and reporting requirements. 
  • Provide support to the DEV team and other staff involved in projects.  
  • Carry out site and client visits where required. 
  • Promote the use of the company’s IMS in all aspects of the business. 
  • Assist support teams in the raising of PO’s following company guidelines and process. 
  • Review and approve supplier invoices where required relating to assigned projects. 
  • Representing Sulmara at a customer meeting or to third parties as required.
  • Uphold organisation’s standards of business integrity. 
  • Perform any other delegated duties or tasks as instructed by your Line Manager.

Skills Requirements

  • Strong management and organization skills. 
  • A good technical understanding of offshore survey is preferred. 
  • A good technical understanding of unmanned systems is preferred. 
  • A good technical understanding of data management is preferred. 

Experience, Competency and Qualifications

  • University degree in Survey / Geomatics / Hydrography, or an Engineering / Scientific equivalent, or relevant industry experience. 
  • Experience managing and/or leading a technical development project would be advantageous but not essential. 
  • Experience with grant funding bodies, projects and reporting would be advantageous but not essential. 
  • Experience with project management tools and processes would be advantageous but not essential.
