An opportunity has arisen for a Data Delivery Manager to join our Development team in Norwich.

The Data Delivery Manager is responsible for managing all aspects related to the safe & secure collection, transmission, analysis, quality control and dissemination of data and processed products. The Data Manager will serve as the focal point of contact for all data related activities including the management of hardware and software systems to support transmission, storage, processing, interpretation and delivery of data (video & spatial and metadata) as well as development and compliance of accepted Data Management & Cyber Security operating standards for the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development of strategies and definition of technical solutions for data (video & spatial and metadata) handling, processing and delivery for onshore & offshore application.
  • Definition of policies and tools for preparation, management, documentation, formatting and distribution of data to clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies related to data handling, transmission and storage to evaluate for potential business use.
  • Provision of internal data transfer and access mechanisms (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS Server technology, THREDDS, OPeNDAP, etc.) for local and remote sites.
  • Management of software & datasets version control, maintenance of archival system and reliable backups, organization and archiving data from legacy projects.
  • Cooperate with QHSE department to improve QA/QC aspects related to data management.
  • Provide leadership and manage Reporting teams to ensure high quality data management activities & deliverables,  and a quality synthesised and fit-for-purpose end product for the client.
  • Train staff on data management procedures (data documentation, QA/QC procedures, versioning, etc.).
  • Along with Regional Director define and implements targets for the function in line with the strategic objectives set for the business in the yearly budget.
  • Support Commercial teams with the preparation and submission of proposals by determining technical solutions for to meet client requirements.
  • Participate in audits from clients and standards organisations as well as audits carried out on our suppliers and sub-contractors on data security and management.
  • Reporting for internal and external approval purposes.
  • Participate in and actively support company initiatives.
  • Attend clarification meetings with Client when required.
  • Adhere strictly to the Company's policies including, but not limited to, anti-bribery and Foreign Corrupt Practices.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere strictly to the Company's procedures and policies.
  • Perform any other delegated duties or tasks as instructed by your Line Manager.

Skills Requirements

  • Strong analytical thinker and process-driven individual.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in an international team, globally deployed.
  • Ability to cope with challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), other languages will be a plus.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active approach

Experience, Competency and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Science, GIS, or related field.
  • Extensive practical experience related to Data Management.
  • Track record of successful data management system implementation.
  • Understanding of database concepts and software (e.g., MongoDB, SQL and No-SQL).
  • Knowledge of spatial data management, GIS, and data processing.
  • Knowledge of Virtual Machines, Docker and Nextcloud on TrueNAS.
  • Experience with Cloud Computing/Networking/Cybersecurity.
  • Preferably, experience applying metadata standards (i.e. ISO 19115, FGDC).
