Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Upholding the highest standards of best practice in line with Company IMS.
  • Provide technical and operational support and troubleshooting to operations team and field staff.
  • Work closely with Operations team at the planning stage to specify the correct hardware and software to meet project and client expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of: goods received & dispatched, imports & exports, calibration & certification, licensable goods and assets.
  • Maintain good dialogue with operations and field staff to ensure operations run efficiently and relevant lessons learnt are recorded and actioned for future works.
  • Maintain, service, diagnose and repair of equipment to ensure limited damages and operational downtime.
  • Liaise with Operations Manager and equipment suppliers during execution of projects to ensure that all equipment requirements of the project are resourced correctly.
  • Identify and mitigate potential equipment related technical, QHSE risks for assigned projects.
  • Proactively seek improvement to methodology and technology.
  • Attend and assist with vessel mobilisations as required.
  • Sourcing and collecting items and equipment needed for mobilisation.
  • Checking, inspecting and documenting equipment prior to mobilisation.
  • Setup, interface, function test prior to mobilisation.
  • Demobilise, check, inspect and document equipment prior to dispatch back to suppliers.
  • Maintain the workshop and warehouse environment ensuring all HSE requirements are met.
  • Administer and manage specific project or workshop tasks assigned by the Regional Manager.

 

Skills Requirements

  • Technical understanding and knowledge of major survey equipment and software used in offshore survey sector.
  • Ability to support technical reviews of project & client requirements.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to manage small team of engineers.

 

Experience, Competency and Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or higher in Electronic or ICT discipline, or relevant, or equivalent practical experience in a survey orientated electronic or ICT role.
  • Extensive knowledge / experience working in the offshore services sector relevant field experience as a Survey Engineer.
  • Managerial experience is preferred however not essential.
